THE VENTURE CAPITAL TRUST FUND has ended its Nationwide Road Show which it embarked in all the Ten regional capitals  to disseminate information on the processes and procedures to access venture funds.  This forum was opened to Business Operators of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who require venture capital funding to establish and expand their businesses.
The Road Show which started on the 16th July 2007 in Kumasi at Miklin Hotel ended on the 14th of August 2007 in Accra  at the Fiesta Royale Hotel.  The Key note address was delivered by Hon. Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu , Minister for Finance and Economic Planning
The Road Show was to:

  • Create public awareness of funding opportunities available at the Venture Capital Trust Fund
  • Educate businesses and potential entrepreneurs of the processes and procedures on how to access the Venture Capital Funds.

In attendance were the four (4) Fund Managers of the Venture Capital Finance companies who did presentations on their roles and the processes and procedures in accessing the fund.
The main presentation on the Venture Capital Trust Fund was done by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VCTF Nana Osei-Bonsu who took the Captains of SMEs through various topics including the Government’s Vision on setting the Venture Capital Trust Fund, the Objectives of the Fund, the processes and procedures in accessing the Funds and where to access the funds.
The Chairman of the Final Accra Road Show was Dr. Nii Noi Ashong, chairman of the Board of Trustee of the Venture Capital Trust Fund. The Chairman entreated the Captains of SMEs to access the funds since the funds were to be used to create jobs, generate wealth and eliminate poverty.
